It is a members-only item and uses a slash attack style with a fast attack speed. The weapon has 1,694 accuracy and 459.4 ability damage. It pairs well with a main-hand weapon for dual wield melee combat.

This item is player made. It is smithed at a forge and anvil with 2 bane bars and gives 1,400 Smithing experience. It can be upgraded with more bane bars, all the way to a bane off hand longsword + 4 at tier 79. The + 4 version has 1,876 accuracy and 483.9 ability damage.

The base weapon degrades after 10,000 charges of combat. It can be repaired for up to 80,000 coins, or for less at an armour stand or whetstone. It can also be reforged at an anvil with bane bars.

The bane off hand longsword is tradeable and can be noted. It can also be disassembled for Invention parts, such as blade parts and sharp components.
