Description

The bittercap mushroom is a Farming item in RuneScape 3. Players grow it from a bittercap mushroom spore in a mushroom patch. This needs level 53 Farming. Each spore can give up to six mushrooms. Mushroom patches are found in Canifis, Isafdar, and the City of Um.

Bittercap mushrooms have many uses. Four are needed to brew moonlight mead, and one can be sliced to help make mushroom potatoes. Fifteen mushrooms can be added to a compost bin to make supercompost. Eight mushrooms can pay a farmer to watch a whiteberry bush. They can also be used for mushy mush, variety mush, and a mushroomy pickpocketing bag.

Five mushrooms planted in enchanted soil complete a fairy ring. This works at the Ancient Cavern, the Kharazi Jungle, and The Lost Grove. Completing these rings opens up new teleport spots on the fairy ring network.

Five mushrooms are needed for the Rebuilding Edgeville miniquest. Picking one is also part of the Fun Guy But Bitter task in the medium Morytania achievements. Buying bittercap mushrooms saves time on growing and lets players get right to brewing, cooking, and questing.
