The Black salamander (unchecked) is a rare members-only item in RuneScape 3. It is a very hard item to get in the game. When you check the item, it turns into a black salamander. This is a farm animal for the Anachronia Dinosaur Farm. You need level 102 Farming to raise it. Black salamanders live in small pens and eat seeds, flowers, and insects.

These salamanders are great for Farming XP. Checking an adult gives 9,000 XP, and checking an elder gives 13,500 XP. They also make useful produce. Each black salamander always produces 85 swamp tar, plus muck. You can breed them too, with a 60% success chance and a 10 hour breeding cycle. When you are done, you can sell them to Steven, the salamander commander.
