Black wool is an item in RuneScape 3. It comes from black sheep. You can shear these sheep at Fred the Farmer's farm in Lumbridge or at the Dark Wizards' Tower near Falador. You can also get it by gathering produce from a black ewe or ram at the player-owned farm. Black sheep drop one wool, and black ewes and rams drop three.
Black wool has one main use. Take it to a spinning wheel and spin it into a ball of black wool. Each ball you spin gives 2.5 Crafting experience. You need 20 balls of black wool to complete the Sheep Shearer miniquest for Fred the Farmer.
Black wool is a tradeable item that both free players and members can use. It is very light at 0.003 kg, but it does not stack in your inventory. You can also disassemble it. Doing so gives Simple parts most of the time and Variable components on rare occasions.
Buying black wool saves time spent shearing sheep. It is a simple way to stock up for the Sheep Shearer miniquest or for easy Crafting experience at a spinning wheel.
