Description
Broad-tipped bolts are crossbow ammo in RuneScape 3. They are the bolt version of broad arrows. Slayers use them to kill turoth and kurask, since those monsters need broad ammo to be hurt.
These bolts are tier 50 with 480 ability damage. That is the same damage as rune bolts, but broad-tipped bolts cost much less. This makes them a favorite pick for Ranged training and everyday combat. You need level 55 Slayer and level 50 Ranged to use them. They can be fired from any crossbow except Karil's crossbow and its pistol versions.
Players can make these bolts with the Fletching skill at level 55, after unlocking the ability with 300 Slayer points. Adding feathers to unfinished broad bolts makes 10 bolts at a time and gives 30 Fletching experience per set. Standard feathers work, and so do colored feathers like red, blue, yellow, stripy, orange, and wimpy.
Broad-tipped bolts can also be broken down for parts. They give Base parts, Head parts, Spiked parts, and Stunning components. Grab a stack of broad-tipped bolts to take on Slayer tasks or train Ranged without spending big on rune bolts.
