Description

The RS3 bullseye lantern (oil) is a sturdy steel lantern that works as a light source in RuneScape 3. It lights up dark areas, so it is a handy item for exploring caves and other dark places. This is a members only item that is tradeable and noteable, and it weighs 1.36 kg.

Making this lantern from scratch takes work. The steel frame needs level 20 Smithing, and the glass lens needs level 49 Crafting. The lantern is filled with lamp oil, which comes from distilling swamp tar at the chemist's house in Rimmington or at the lamp stall in Dorgesh-Kaan. To light it, a player needs a tinderbox and level 49 Firemaking. Buying the lantern skips these crafting steps.

The bullseye lantern also helps with the Falador Medium Achievement called Blinded With Science. That task asks players to light a bullseye lantern in the chemist's house. The lantern frame can also be used with a sapphire lens to make a sapphire lantern, which is needed for the quests Tears of Guthix and While Guthix Sleeps.
