Description
The tinderbox is a basic tool in RuneScape 3. It is used to light fires with the Firemaking skill. You can also use it to light candles, lanterns, and fire arrows. It can be stored on your tool belt, so it does not take up space in your bag.
With a tinderbox, you can burn all types of logs. Normal logs need level 1 Firemaking and give 40 XP. Higher level logs give more XP. Magic logs need level 75 and give 303.8 XP each. You can also burn jogre bones at level 30 for 90 XP.
The tinderbox has other uses too. It is the tertiary item needed to make a pyrelord in Summoning. In Construction, it helps you build a flame pit in an oubliette. In Invention, it is used to make a pyro-matic. It can also be disassembled for Simple parts most of the time, with a small chance of Variable components.
The tinderbox is tradeable and can be noted. It is very light at 0.035 kg. If you die, it is always kept outside a dangerous area. Every Firemaking trainer needs one, so it is a smart tool to have.
