The butterfly flower seed is a Farming seed in RuneScape 3. Players need level 88 Farming to plant it in a flower patch. One seed fills the patch. The plant grows in 20 minutes, moving through four stages of five minutes each.

Planting the seed gives 210 Farming XP. Picking the flower gives 280 XP and three ruby harvest jars. No butterfly jars are needed. There is also a small chance to get harmony moss when harvesting.

This seed has a special bonus. Each harvest has a chance to make a Guthixian butterfly appear near the patch. Only the player can see it, and it shows up on the minimap. The butterfly stays for 10 minutes before it leaves, so there is time to catch it.

The butterfly flower seed is a members-only item. Nearby gardeners cannot watch over the plant, and there is no payment for disease protection. Players who want fast flower patch XP, ruby harvest jars, or a shot at the Guthixian butterfly will get good use from this seed.
