Description

The cactus spine is a Farming item in RuneScape 3. It comes from a cactus grown in a cactus patch. Growing a cactus needs level 55 Farming. Each spine picked gives 25 Farming experience. A cactus holds up to three spines at a time, and it grows a new one every 20 minutes after picking.

Cactus spines have a big role in Herblore. At level 73 Herblore, players use them to make weapon poison+ (unf) potions. This makes spines useful for anyone training Herblore or making poison for combat.

Spines also help with tree farming. A farmer will watch over a planted yew seed in exchange for ten cactus spines. This keeps the yew tree safe from disease while it grows.

Cactus patches are found in Al Kharid, Het's Oasis, Northern Anachronia, and the Imperial District of Menaphos. Spines can also drop from monsters like the Camel Warrior and from nature implings. With the hard Desert achievements done, a patch gives six spines instead of three.
