Description

RS3 Cowhide is a basic crafting item in RuneScape 3. Cows drop these hides when they are killed. Players want cowhides because they are the first step in making leather gear with the Crafting skill.

Take a cowhide to a tanner to turn it into leather. Soft leather is free. Hard leather costs 3 coins per hide. Tanners can be found in Al Kharid, Varrock, Taverley, Canifis, the Ranging Guild, and the Crafting Guild. Once tanned, the leather can be crafted into many pieces of equipment.

Cowhides have another use too. Players who have finished the Tower of Life quest can use them in Creature Creation to make unicows.

Cowhides are tradeable, noteable, and stackable, so they are easy to store and move around. Each hide weighs 2.721 kg. They can also be disassembled for Simple parts or, on rare occasions, Living components.

With a stack of cowhides, players can skip hours of killing cows and picking up drops. That means more time spent training Crafting and making leather armor, and less time grinding in the cow fields.
