Description
Dark animica is a mining resource in RuneScape 3. Players need level 90 Mining to gather it from dark animica rocks. These rocks are found in the Anachronia Swamp mine and the Empty Throne Room mine. Each mine has four rocks.
Dark animica is a key part of high level Smithing. At level 90 Smithing, players combine one dark animica, one light animica, and one rune bar at a furnace to make an elder rune bar. Elder rune bars are used to smith some of the best gear in the game. This makes dark animica a resource many players want in large amounts.
Dark animica can be stored in an elder rune ore box or higher, which holds 100 by default. Players can also make it with level 95 Divination by transmuting five incandescent energy and two banite ore.
In the game's lore, dark animica formed over thousands of years at places rich in anima. The most famous site is the Empty Throne Room, where the god Zaros fell. Buying dark animica saves time on mining and lets players jump straight into elder rune smithing.
