Description
The elder rune bar is a members-only metal bar in RuneScape 3. It is the top tier bar in the Smithing skill. Players make it by smelting one light animica ore, one dark animica ore, and one rune bar. This can be done at a furnace or with the Superheat Item spell.
Smelting an elder rune bar needs level 90 Smithing and gives 26 Smithing experience. At level 91, smelting gets 25% faster. At level 94, it gets 50% faster. Starting at level 92, there is a chance to smelt an extra bar without using more ores.
Elder rune bars are forged at an anvil into elder rune equipment. This makes them a key item for high level smiths who want to train the skill or craft strong gear.
The bar is tradeable and noteable, and it stacks only when noted. It can also be disassembled for Simple parts and Crafted parts with no junk chance. In game lore, elder rune is a rune bar reinforced with light and dark animica, rare crystals that form at places where gods fell.
