Description

The elder shortbow (unstrung) is a members-only item in RuneScape 3. It is a bow that does not have a string yet. Players cut it from elder logs with a knife at level 90 Fletching. Making one gives 101.2 Fletching experience.

Add a bowstring or a fungal bowstring to turn it into an elder shortbow. Stringing it gives another 101.2 Fletching experience. The finished bow is a tier 60 Ranged weapon. It needs level 60 Ranged to wield, uses arrows, and has an attack range of 7 spaces.

The unstrung bow cannot be worn. It is tradeable and noteable, so it is easy to move and sell. It is a smart pick for players who want fast Fletching training or a strung bow to use or trade.

The item can also be taken apart with the Invention skill. Disassembly gives 13.5 experience and produces 4 materials with a base junk chance of 50.5%. Possible materials include Stave parts, Flexible parts, Tensile parts, Precise components, and Dextrous components. This makes the unstrung bow useful for players who need parts for Invention as well.
