Description

Fungal flakes are a stackable item in RuneScape 3. Monsters in the Polypore Dungeon drop them. Players can also get a few flakes by throwing neem oil on the monsters there, but killing the monsters gives a much better chance at flakes and polypore spores.

The main use for fungal flakes is upgrading mycelium web armour into fungal armour. A fungal visor needs 300 flakes, fungal leggings need 1,000 flakes, and a fungal poncho needs 2,500 flakes. Each piece is made from its matching web using thread and gives Crafting experience.

Flakes have a second use at high levels. Making masterwork green cloth at a loom takes 1,000 fungal flakes, along with 1,000 grifolic flakes, 1,000 ganodermic flakes, and 10 starbloom cloth. This needs level 110 Crafting and gives 2,500 experience. The cloth is used to craft masterwork magic equipment.

Fungal flakes are tradeable and weigh nothing, so they are easy to hold in bulk. A merchant near the dungeon entrance can store them. The flakes can also be disassembled, most often giving simple parts and rarely giving variable components. Common drop sources include fungal mages, fungal rodents, and infested axes.
