Description
The Light orb is a glass bulb used in RuneScape 3. It is a part of cave goblin magic. Players use it to fix broken lamps in the city of Dorgesh-Kaan.
Fixing a lamp needs level 52 Firemaking. Each lamp fixed gives 1000 Firemaking experience. With a ring of fire and flame gloves, that goes up to 1050 per lamp. After fixing 100 lamps, players earn a bonus of 5000 extra Firemaking experience. Broken lamps can show up on three floors of the city, and most appear on the first and second floors.
Light orbs are also useful for the Invention skill. When disassembled, a Light orb gives Clear parts, Delicate parts, Smooth parts, Enhancing components, and Faceted components. The junk chance is low at 0.6%, so most parts are kept.
Making a Light orb by hand takes level 87 Crafting. A player blows molten glass into an empty orb, then adds cave goblin wire to finish it. Buying Light orbs skips that high skill wall. This makes them a smart pick for players training Firemaking or gathering parts for Invention.
