This helm gives 90.8 armour and a bonus of 300 life points. It also cuts damage by 0.6% against monsters and 1.125% against players. It works best for melee builds, since it has accuracy penalties for ranged, magic, and necromancy attacks.
Players can also smith this helm with 2 mithril bars at a forge and anvil. This needs level 30 Smithing and gives 240 Smithing experience. The helm can be upgraded too. Adding 2 more bars makes it a mithril full helm + 1 at tier 31 with 94.0 armour. Adding 4 more bars after that makes it a + 2 at tier 32 with 97.2 armour.
The helm can be disassembled for 9.0 experience. It can give cover parts, deflecting parts, plated parts, strong components, and protective components. This makes it useful for training or for gathering materials, not just for wearing in combat.
