This shield is a solid step up from the base mithril kiteshield, which has 90.8 armour. The + 2 version is two tiers higher and gives better protection for low and mid level melee training.
Players who want to make this shield need level 30 Smithing. It takes 4 mithril bars and a mithril kiteshield + 1 at a forge and anvil. In total, the full upgrade path uses 8 bars. Buying it saves you the bars and the work.
