Description

Onyx bolts are strong ranged ammo in RuneScape 3. They are rune bolts tipped with onyx. You need level 70 Ranged to use them. They are tier 70 ammo with an ability damage of 672 and a max hit of 1008. They are members only, tradeable, stackable, and can be equipped.

These bolts can be enchanted with the Enchant Crossbow Bolt (Onyx) spell at level 87 Magic. The spell enchants 10 bolts at a time and gives them a special ability. Many players enchant onyx bolts to train Magic because the bolts have a high Grand Exchange limit and a high alchemy value of 8,179 coins.

Players make onyx bolts by attaching onyx bolt tips to rune bolts. This takes level 73 Fletching and gives 94 Fletching experience for every 10 bolts made. Making the tips from a cut onyx needs level 67 Crafting, or the tips can be bought from the TzHaar.

Onyx bolts can also be disassembled. They give base parts, head parts, spiked parts, and stunning components, with a base junk chance of 61.5 percent. Buying onyx bolts saves time on crafting, fletching, and gathering supplies.
