Description

Opal bolts (e) are enchanted bronze crossbow bolts tipped with opal in RuneScape 3. They are members-only ammo for crossbows. You need level 20 Ranged to use them. They are tier 20 bolts with 192 ability damage and a maximum hit of 288. The bolts are stackable and tradeable, so they are easy to carry and easy to buy or sell.

These bolts carry the Lucky Lightning enchantment. It has a 5% chance to trigger and deals 10% more damage to your target. Auto attacks and abilities can both set it off. Multi-target abilities like Ricochet can trigger it on each target. Abilities that hit many times, like Rapid Fire, can trigger it on each hit. The Ranged cape perk raises the chance to 6%. Finishing the Elite Seers' Village achievements raises it to 7%. With both, the chance is 8.4%.

Players can also make these bolts with level 4 Magic using the Enchant Crossbow Bolt (Opal) spell. Each cast enchants 10 opal bolts, uses 2 air runes and 1 cosmic rune, and gives 9 Magic experience. They are a cheap and solid pick for low-level Ranged training.
