Description

The plank is the most basic Construction item in RuneScape 3. It is made from regular logs and it is the only plank that free-to-play players can use. Each plank weighs 0.8 kg and can be traded or noted.

Planks are used to build furniture and flatpacks in Construction. Building with a plank gives 29 Construction experience and usually needs nails too. Planks also work for Construction Contracts and for building at Fort Forinthry. They can be stored in a plank box and used from there just like items in the backpack.

Many quests need planks. Dragon Slayer needs 3, The Great Brain Robbery needs 18, New Foundations needs 20, and In Aid of the Myreque needs 11. Other quests like Cold War, Regicide, and Observatory Quest need them as well.

Buying planks saves time. Making them yourself means a trip to a sawmill or casting the Plank Make spell, which needs level 86 Magic plus earth, nature, and astral runes. With a stock of planks ready, players can train Construction, finish quests, or work on Fort Forinthry without stopping to gather logs first.
