Description
Platinum ore is a high level resource in RuneScape 3. Players mine it from platinum rocks, which need level 104 Mining. The rocks are found in three spots: the Highweald Ruins mine, the Piscatoris south mine, and the Uzer mine north of Uzer.
The main use for platinum ore is smelting. One ore smelted at a furnace makes one platinum bar and gives 33 Smithing experience. Casting Superheat Item on the ore also makes a bar and adds 43 Magic experience. Platinum bars are used to craft platinum jewellery and masterwork magic equipment.
Platinum jewellery is crafted from a platinum bar and a dragonstone. When enchanted with Lvl-5 Enchant, these items gain strong effects. Examples include the Ring of retribution, the Sunburst bracelet, and the Delver's anklet, which lets players teleport to select Slayer dungeons.
The ore is tradeable and noteable. Up to 100 can be stored in a primal ore box, and it can also be kept in the metal bank. Signs of the porter can send it straight to the bank. Buying platinum ore lets players skip the level 104 Mining grind and get right to smithing and crafting.
