Description
The potato cactus is a cactus fruit in RuneScape 3. It grows in cactus patches and needs level 86 Farming to plant. Players want potato cacti because they are used to make super magic potions and spirit kalphite pouches. They are also one of the items Thorgel asks for to get a death talisman.
Potato cacti are useful for farmers too. A farmer will watch over a planted dragonfruit seed in exchange for eight potato cacti. That makes them handy to keep in your bank if you train Farming.
Growing your own takes time. The plant needs 9 hours and 20 minutes to grow. Each harvest gives just three potato cacti, and the plant regrows them slowly. Cactus patches are found in Al Kharid, Het's Oasis, the Imperial District of Menaphos, and northern Anachronia. Hard Desert achievements can raise the yield, but that takes work to complete.
Buying potato cacti skips the long grow times and the high Farming level. With a stock of them, you can make super magic potions, craft spirit kalphite pouches, or pay farmers to protect your dragonfruit trees right away.
