Description
The Rune chainbody is a tier 50 melee body armour in RuneScape 3. It is a tank armour piece worn in the body slot. To wear it, a player needs level 50 Defence. It is a non-members item, so free players can use it too.
This chainbody gives 195.5 armour and a bonus of 750 life points. It also reduces damage by 1% against monsters and 3% against other players. Its stats match the rune platebody, so the only real difference is how it looks.
Players with level 50 Smithing can make one at a forge and anvil with 5 rune bars, earning 1,200 Smithing experience. It can be upgraded with more rune bars, up to a Rune chainbody + 3 at tier 53 with 213.4 armour. Reaching + 3 takes 40 rune bars in total.
The item is tradeable, equipable, lendable, and noteable, and it weighs only 0.025 kg. It can also be disassembled for 20 materials, mostly Cover parts, Deflecting parts, and Plated parts. This makes it a solid pick for mid-level melee fighters and Invention training alike.
