Description
The speedy whirligig shell is a members-only item in RuneScape 3. It comes from speedy whirligigs, small scarabs found in the pools of Het's Oasis. To attract them, players bait a flower basket with hollyhocks. Catching one needs level 90 Hunter and gives 500 Hunter XP. Each catch drops one shell.
The main use for these shells is making powder of burials. Grinding 15 shells with a pestle and mortar makes 1 powder. Players with level 85 Magic can use the Telekinetic Grind spell on 900 shells at once, with 2 astral runes and 1 law rune, to make 60 powder of burials in one go.
The shell is also a part used to create a Holy scarab pouch at an Obelisk. It is combined with other whirligig shell types and extra materials.
The shell is tradeable and stackable, and it weighs nothing, so it is easy to hold in bulk. It can be disassembled, giving Simple parts most of the time and Variable components on rare occasions. This item is a smart pick for players who want powder of burials without the time spent hunting.
