The Steadfast scale is an armoured scale from a rune dragon in RuneScape 3. Players want this item for one big reason. Two scales can be attached to a pair of steadfast boots to create emberkeen boots. Emberkeen boots are level 90 melee boots, which makes them a strong upgrade. Once the scales are attached, the process cannot be reversed except through combat degradation.
Getting a Steadfast scale by hand takes time. Rune dragons only drop the scale when killed on a slayer task, and the drop rate is about 1 in 768. Elite rune dragons can drop it without a task at about 1 in 588. Monsters in the Temple of Aminishi can also drop the scale, but the odds there range from 1 in 5,000 to 1 in 40,000.
The scale is tradeable and can be noted. It weighs 0.05 kg and has a value of 50,000 coins.
