The studded leather coif is light weight head gear for Ranged combat in RuneScape 3. It needs level 20 Defence to wear. It is the fourth best Ranged head gear for free players, behind the carapace helm, green dragonhide coif, and blue dragonhide coif.
This coif is a tier 20 tank armour piece for the head slot. It gives 63.2 Armour and a 200 life point bonus. It also cuts damage by 0.4% in PvM and 0.75% in PvP. It weighs 0.907 kg, so it is easy to carry.
Players with level 38 Crafting can make this coif by adding steel studs to a leather cowl, which gives 37 Crafting experience. It can also come from easy Treasure Trails. Members with level 79 Crafting can turn it into a feather headdress with 20 coloured feathers.
The coif is tradeable, noteable, and can be disassembled for parts like cover parts, tensile parts, and padded parts. On death it is always kept outside a dangerous area. This item was called the coif before October 2017, when it got its new name and free players could craft it.
