Description

The black knife is a throwing knife in Old School RuneScape. You need level 10 Ranged to wield it. It is a members item, and it is tradeable, stackable, and equipable. It weighs nothing. Its examine text calls it "a finely balanced throwing knife."

This knife gives a +10 Ranged attack bonus and a +8 Ranged strength bonus. It is stronger than a steel knife but weaker than a mithril knife. Throwing knives are among the fastest weapons in the game, so they work well for training Ranged and for PKing. On the Rapid style, the knife attacks every 1.2 seconds. It is a one-handed weapon, so you can use a shield or god book with it for extra protection.

You can poison the black knife with Weapon poison, Weapon poison(+), or Weapon poison(++). Knives are poisoned in sets of 5.

Like all black equipment, this knife cannot be made with the Smithing skill. It comes as a drop from monsters like cyclopes, ankou, shadow warriors, and soldiers in Burthorpe, or from trading with other players. Buying it saves you the time spent hunting for drops.
