Description

The steel knife is a throwing knife in Old School RuneScape. You need level 5 Ranged to wield it. It is stronger than an iron knife but weaker than a black knife. It gives a +8 Ranged attack bonus and a +7 strength bonus.

Throwing knives are among the fastest weapons in the game, along with darts. On the Rapid style, a steel knife attacks every 1.2 seconds. This speed makes it a common pick for PKing and for training Ranged. You can also use it with a shield or god book for extra protection, and it can be poisoned for more damage.

The knife weighs nothing and is stackable, so you can carry a big pile in one inventory slot. Players with level 37 Smithing can make five steel knives from one steel bar for 37.5 Smithing experience. A single knife spawns in the cave of the Kendal, north of the Mountain Camp. You can also buy them from Martin Thwait's Lost and Found shop in the Rogues' Den, which needs 50 Thieving and 50 Agility to enter.
