Description

The bolt of linen is a crafting item in Old School RuneScape. Players use it to build sails for their boats and to make the gem pouch. It is a key material for anyone working on sailing gear or Crafting goals.

Bolts of linen are needed for many mast and sail builds. Wooden masts with linen sails need 5 bolts for a raft or skiff, and 10 bolts for a sloop. Oak masts with linen sails use the same amounts, along with oak logs and iron nails. The gem pouch needs 1 bolt of linen and 1 silk at level 12 Crafting for 25 XP.

Players can make a bolt of linen at a loom with 2 linen yarn. This needs level 12 Crafting and gives 20 Crafting experience. Handy looms can be found at the South Falador Farm, the Museum Camp on Fossil Island, and near Auburnvale in Varlamore.

The bolt of linen is tradeable and noteable, but it does not stack and cannot be worn. It weighs 1 kg. Buying bolts of linen saves time spent spinning yarn and weaving, so players can get right to building their boat.
