Description

The catalytic talisman is an item in Old School RuneScape. It lets players enter any catalytic runic altar. Some altars still need quests before you can use them. The talisman drops from the Rewards Guardian, which uses points earned in the Guardians of the Rift minigame.

You can combine the talisman with a gold tiara at a catalytic altar to make a catalytic tiara. This gives 60 Runecraft experience and uses up the talisman. The tiara works the same way as the talisman, but you can wear it on your head. This saves an inventory space when crafting catalytic runes. You cannot make the tiara while playing Guardians of the Rift.

The talisman and tiara can open the Death Altar during Mourning's End Part II. This lets you skip Thorgel's item list. Some catalytic runes need quests first. Cosmic runes need Lost City. Law runes need Troll Stronghold. Death runes need Mourning's End Part II. Blood runes at the true Blood Altar need Sins of the Father. Wrath runes need Dragon Slayer II.

The talisman cannot open the Chaos Altar through the Tunnel of Chaos. Its shape comes from the Catalytic rune symbol in RuneScape 3.
