Cotton yarn is a crafting item in Old School RuneScape. It is made by spinning cotton bolls on a spinning wheel. Making it takes level 73 Crafting and gives 105 experience per yarn. One cotton boll makes one cotton yarn.

Cotton yarn is used to make several helpful items. Two yarn can be woven into a bolt of cotton at level 73 Crafting, which is used to upgrade masts and sails on a boat. At level 84 Crafting, yarn is part of the cotton trawling net, along with ironwood planks, rope, runite bars, cupronickel bars, and ray barbs. At level 56 Crafting, one yarn and one haemostatic poultice make a set of haemostatic dressings.

Players who want to weave the yarn can use the spinning wheel and loom in the north tent at the Museum Camp on Fossil Island. A bank chest sits nearby, but these facilities must be built before use.
