Description

Crossbow string is a members item in Old School RuneScape. It is used in the Fletching skill to make crossbows. You attach the string to an unstrung crossbow to finish it. It is a key item for anyone who wants to train Fletching with crossbows.

With crossbow string, you can make every type of crossbow in the game. This starts with the bronze crossbow at level 9 Fletching and goes all the way up to the dragon crossbow at level 78. Popular options include the rune crossbow at level 69, which gives 50 Fletching XP, and the dragon crossbow, which gives 70 XP.

Players can also make crossbow string with the Crafting skill. It takes level 10 Crafting and a spinning wheel. You spin sinew or tree roots, such as oak, willow, maple, yew, or magic roots, and each string gives 15 Crafting XP. Smoke devils and nuclear smoke devils can also drop it.

Crossbow string is tradeable and noteable, and it weighs almost nothing. Buying it in bulk saves time, so you can skip the spinning and get right to fletching crossbows for XP or profit.
