Description

The Dragon chainbody, often called the Dchain, is the highest tier chainbody in Old School RuneScape. It is a members-only item that needs level 60 Defence to wear. It cannot be made with the Smithing skill, so players must get it as a drop or trade for it.

This armour gives strong melee defence. It has +81 stab, +93 slash, and +98 crush defence, plus +82 ranged defence. Its high crush defence makes it a solid pick against enemies that use crush attacks. It has no strength bonus, so many players training melee choose other gear for damage instead.

The Dragon chainbody is also a key piece for upgrades. With 90 Smithing, it can be combined with a dragon metal lump and a dragon metal shard to forge a dragon platebody. Players can also add a dragon chainbody ornament kit to make a gold-trimmed version. The trim is cosmetic and does not change the stats.

Before Barrows armour came out, this chainbody was a rare status symbol for top players. Notable drop sources include the Kalphite Queen at a 1 in 128 chance and the Thermonuclear smoke devil at a 1 in 2,000 chance.
