Description

The Dragon metal shard is a members only item in Old School RuneScape. It is a badly damaged piece of dragon metal. Players use it in Smithing to make two of the best dragon armour pieces in the game.

With level 75 Smithing, you can join the shard with a dragon metal slice and a dragon sq shield to make a dragon kiteshield. This gives 1,000 Smithing experience. With level 90 Smithing, you can use the shard with a dragon metal lump and a dragon chainbody to make a dragon platebody. This gives 2,000 Smithing experience.

The shard can also be bought from the Myths' Guild Armoury in game, but that shop needs Dragon Slayer II to be complete. Buying the shard as an item skips that grind for players who just want to smith the gear.

The Dragon metal shard is tradeable and noteable. It cannot be equipped and does not stack. It weighs 2.721 kg and its item ID is 22097. On the Grand Exchange it has a buy limit of 50 every 4 hours. It is a key item for anyone chasing a dragon kiteshield or dragon platebody.
