Description

The dragon kiteshield is a strong melee shield in Old School RuneScape. It is made at the Dragon Forge by joining a dragon sq shield, a dragon metal shard, and a dragon metal slice. This process needs a hammer, level 75 Smithing, and the Dragon Slayer II quest done. Making it gives 1,000 Smithing experience.

You need 60 Defence to wield the dragon kiteshield. You do not need Legends' Quest, even though the shield is made from the dragon sq shield. It does not protect against dragonfire.

The shield has great melee defence. It gives +56 stab defence, +60 slash defence, and +58 crush defence. It also gives +58 ranged defence. The magic defence is -1, and it has a -8 magic attack bonus and a -3 ranged attack bonus.

Players can add a dragon kiteshield ornament kit from master clue scrolls. This makes a gold-trimmed version. The trim raises the ranged attack bonus from -3 to -2 and changes the look. The kit can be removed later, which returns both the shield and the kit.
