Description

The dragon sq shield is the strongest square shield in Old School RuneScape. To wield it, you need 60 Defence and you must finish Legends' Quest. It gives strong melee defence with +50 Stab, +52 Slash, and +48 Crush. It also gives +50 Ranged defence and -6 Magic attack. The shield does not protect against dragonfire.

Making this shield yourself is hard. It takes two halves. The shield left half is a very rare monster drop. The shield right half costs 750,000 coins from Siegfried Erkle in the Legends' Guild or from Erdan in the Myths' Guild. Joining the halves at an anvil needs level 60 Smithing and gives 75 experience. Smithing the shield in West Ardougne is also a task in the hard Ardougne Diary.

The shield can be upgraded later. With an ornament kit, it becomes a gold-trimmed dragon sq shield (g). This look does not change the stats. After Dragon Slayer II, with level 75 Smithing, you can add a dragon metal shard and a dragon metal slice to turn it into a dragon kiteshield. It is a solid pick for melee combat at mid levels.
