Players make this amulet with the Crafting skill. It takes level 31 Crafting. Use a gold bar on a furnace while carrying a cut emerald and an amulet mould. This gives 70 Crafting experience. Then string the amulet with a ball of wool for 4 more experience. Making emerald amulets is a common way to train Crafting at this level.
The amulet has no stat bonuses on its own. Its real value comes from magic. Cast the Lvl-2 Enchant spell on it, which needs level 27 Magic, and it turns into an amulet of defence. That amulet gives defensive bonuses. An unstrung version can also be strung with a magic string to make a pre-nature amulet, which can become an amulet of nature.
Emerald amulets can also be sold to Grum's Gold Exchange in Port Sarim. Whether you want Crafting experience, Magic training, or a cheap defensive amulet, the emerald amulet is a simple and useful item to have.
