Description
The gold bar is a refined bar of gold in Old School RuneScape. Players make it with the Smithing skill at level 40 by using gold ore on a furnace, or by casting the Superheat Item spell on gold ore. Each bar gives 22.5 Smithing experience. With goldsmith gauntlets from the Family Crest quest, the experience rises to 56.2 per bar.
Gold bars are not used for weapons or armour. Their main use is crafting jewellery. Use a gold bar on a furnace with the right mould in your inventory. You can make a gold ring, gold necklace, gold bracelet, gold amulet, and gold tiara. To add gems, you need the cut gems with you.
Gold bars also have quest uses. They make gold helmets for the Between a Rock... quest and gold bowls for the Legends' Quest.
This item is tradeable and noteable, so it is easy to buy, sell, and carry in bulk. It weighs 1.8 kg and cannot be equipped or stacked. Gold bars save you time on mining and smelting, so you can train Crafting faster and get more experience per hour.
