Description

Fishing bait is a simple item in Old School RuneScape. You use it with a fishing rod at any fishing spot that has the Bait Fishing Spot option. Each fish you catch uses up one piece of bait.

With fishing bait and a rod, you can catch many types of fish. These include sardine at level 5, herring at level 10, pike at level 25, slimy eel at level 28, cave eel at level 38, lava eel at level 53, infernal eel at level 80, and sacred eel at level 87.

Fishing bait also works for barbarian fishing. It can replace feathers as bait. This lets you catch leaping trout at level 48, leaping salmon at level 58, and leaping sturgeon at level 70.

Fishing bait is stackable and tradeable, so it takes up only one spot in your inventory. It weighs nothing. This makes it easy to carry a big stack on long fishing trips. A good supply of bait means you can train your Fishing skill without stopping to restock. It is a must-have item for any player working on Fishing levels.
