The Hammerstone seed is a hops seed in Old School RuneScape. You can plant it in a hops patch at level 4 Farming. Each planting needs 4 seeds. The seeds grow into hammerstone hops, which players use to brew dwarven stouts.
Planting gives 9 Farming XP, and each harvest gives 10 XP. The crop takes 40 minutes to grow, in four stages of 10 minutes each. A fully grown patch gives 3 or more hops. You can pay a nearby gardener 1 marigold to watch the patch for you. Using compost lowers the chance of disease and boosts your yield.
Your chance to pick a hop without using up a harvest life goes up with your Farming level. Magic secateurs and an attas plant in your anima patch raise it even more.
Hammerstone seeds are also a popular pick for bird houses. They are cheap and easy to get, so many players use them to fill bird houses for Hunter training. With a low Farming level needed and quick growth time, these seeds are a simple way to earn early Farming XP.
