Description
The Iron spit is a members-only item in Old School RuneScape. It is a simple tool used to cook meat over a fire. Players can make one with the Smithing skill by using an iron bar on an anvil with a hammer. This needs at least level 17 Smithing and gives 25 Smithing experience.
The iron spit cooks raw bird meat, raw beast meat, raw chompy, and raw rabbits. You can get this raw food with the Hunter skill or by hunting chompy birds. Cooking on the spit needs at least level 20 Firemaking. Use the meat on the spit, then use it on a fire. Note that raw jubbly cannot be cooked this way. It needs an ogre spit-roast instead.
An iron spit is needed to make a skewered chompy for the Freeing Skrach Uglogwee part of the Recipe for Disaster quest. This makes it a handy item for quest progress.
The item weighs 1.5 kg. It is tradeable and noteable, but it cannot be equipped or stacked. It was released on 20 February 2006. A spawn location exists at Weiss in the Fremennik league region.
