Description

The raw chompy is a members-only item in Old School RuneScape. Players get it by killing chompy birds, which always drop one. The chance to hunt chompy birds is unlocked during the Big Chompy Bird Hunting quest.

A raw chompy must be cooked before it can be eaten. With level 30 Cooking, players can cook it on an ogre spit-roast to make a cooked chompy and earn 140 XP. Cooking it wrong makes a ruined chompy. It can also be put on an iron spit at level 30 to make a skewered chompy. At level 85 Cooking, it can be added to a part wild pie made with raw bear meat. It is one of the three main ingredients in a wild pie.

Raw chompies are needed in quests too. Two are used in As a First Resort, and one is used in Recipe for Disaster to help free Skrach Uglogwee. They can also make meaty mush or variety mush in a trough at level 17.

The raw chompy is tradeable and noteable, but it cannot be equipped and does not stack. It weighs 10 kg. It was released on 18 May 2004.
