Description

Ironwood pyre logs are members-only items in Old School RuneScape. Players use them in the Shades of Mort'ton minigame to cremate shade remains. They work on Loar, Phrin, Riyl, Asyn, and Fiyr shades.

You need level 85 Firemaking to light these logs. Each cremation gives 435 Firemaking experience. If you have finished the Elite Morytania Diary, that goes up to 652.5 experience. You also get 35.5 Prayer experience per cremation.

To cremate a shade, take the pyre logs and a set of shade remains to a funeral pyre south or west of Mort'ton's centre. Light the pyre with a tinderbox. This frees the shade and rewards you with coins or a key. The type of key depends on the remains you burn, not the logs.

Ironwood pyre logs are made by using four doses of sacred olive oil on Ironwood logs. That step gives 20 Firemaking experience. Buying the logs ready to use skips that work.

These logs are tradeable and noteable, but they do not stack. Each log weighs 1.36 kg. The item was released on 19 November 2025 and its item ID is 31386.
