Description

Jute fibre is a members item in Old School RuneScape. Players grow it in a hops patch by planting jute seeds. Harvesting needs level 13 Farming, and each pick gives one fibre. The item is tradeable and noteable, but it does not stack and cannot be worn. Each fibre weighs 0.226 kg.

Jute fibre is most useful for Crafting. With 4 fibres and level 21 Crafting, players can weave an empty sack for 38 Crafting XP. With 2 fibres, level 26 Crafting, and level 55 Fishing, players can make a drift net for 26 Crafting XP. Drift nets and sacks make jute a handy item for skillers who want steady Crafting XP.

Jute fibres have farming uses too. Ten fibres can be paid to a farmer to protect a sweetcorn patch. Fibres can also go into a compost bin to make regular compost.

There is even a bit of lore. The book Gielinor's flora - hops says the people of Hosidius make a stew from the jute plant called Molo, though it is not in the game yet. Buying jute fibre saves time on farming runs and keeps Crafting training simple.
