Description

The mud rune is a combination rune in Old School RuneScape. It counts as one water rune and one earth rune at the same time. Any spell that needs a water rune, an earth rune, or both will use just one mud rune. This saves inventory space and makes casting easier.

Players can craft mud runes with the Runecraft skill at level 13 or higher. They can also be bought with pizazz points from the Mage Training Arena or looted from essence implings with 42 Hunter. Crafting them at an altar has a 50 percent success rate, or 100 percent with a binding necklace.

Mud runes have more uses than casting spells. You can grind one with a pestle and mortar to make a ground mud rune, which is needed to complete The Eyes of Glouphrie quest. If you want unlimited mud runes, the mud battlestaff and the mystic mud staff both provide them when equipped.
