The Oak shortbow (u) is an unstrung oak shortbow in Old School RuneScape. It is made by using a knife on oak logs. Cutting the bow needs level 20 Fletching and gives 16.5 Fletching experience.

This item is not a finished bow yet. To complete it, string it with a bowstring at level 20 Fletching. This gives another 16.5 experience and turns it into an Oak shortbow. That means one bow gives 33 Fletching experience in total.

Players want the Oak shortbow (u) because it is a fast way to train Fletching at low levels. Each unstrung bow takes only 1.8 seconds to make, so stringing a big batch is quick and simple experience.
