Description

Opal dragon bolts are crossbow ammo in Old School RuneScape. You need a Ranged level of 64 to use them. They only work with a Dragon crossbow or better. Each bolt has a ranged strength bonus of +122, so they hit hard.

Players make these bolts by attaching opal bolt tips to dragon bolts. This needs level 84 Fletching and gives 1.6 experience per bolt. Each action makes 10 bolts.

You can enchant them with the Enchant Crossbow Bolt (Opal) spell at level 4 Magic. One cast uses 1 cosmic rune and 2 air runes to enchant 10 bolts. Enchanted opal dragon bolts have a 5% chance to trigger the Lucky Lightning effect. A lightning bolt strikes your target and deals extra damage equal to 10% of your visible Ranged level. If you have completed the hard Kandarin Diary, the chance goes up to 5.5%. The effect can trigger even if your normal attack misses.

These bolts are members only. They are tradeable, stackable, and weigh nothing, so you can carry as many as you want. They are a strong pick for players who want fast, heavy-hitting crossbow ammo.
