Pastry dough is the base item for making pies in Old School RuneScape. It is made by mixing a pot of flour with water from a bucket, bowl, or jug. Making it takes only 1 tick, which is 0.6 seconds. The item is free-to-play, tradeable, and noteable.

Players use pastry dough on a pie dish to make a pie shell. This needs level 1 Cooking. The pie shell can then hold many fillings. Add redberries for a berry pie, cooked meat or chicken for a meat pie, or a cooking apple for an apple pie. Higher level cooks can make garden pies, fish pies, botanical pies, mushroom pies, dragonfruit pies, admiral pies, wild pies, and summer pies. Members get even more filling choices, like compost for mud pies.

Pastry dough is a smart pick for anyone training Cooking or making pies to eat or sell. Buying it in bulk skips the mixing step, so players can go straight to making pie shells and filling them. It is not stackable, but it can be noted for easy trading and banking.
