Raw rat meat is a food item in Old School RuneScape. It must be cooked before you can eat it. You can cook it on a fire or a range. You only need level 1 Cooking, and each piece you cook gives 30 Cooking experience if it does not burn. This makes it a simple item for training Cooking at low levels.

Raw rat meat has other uses too. It is one of the four raw meats needed for the Druidic Ritual quest. It can also be used as bait when trapping sabre-toothed kebbits in the Hunter skill. Unlike raw beef, raw boar meat, and raw bear meat, raw rat meat cannot be turned into sinew.

In the game, this meat usually comes from giant rats. Level 3 giant rats in Lumbridge Swamp always drop it. Brine rats always drop it too, and they sometimes drop 18 noted raw rat meat at once. Buying raw rat meat saves you the time it takes to hunt rats yourself, so you can get right to cooking or questing.
