Ruby bolts are adamant crossbow bolts tipped with ruby bolt tips in Old School RuneScape. You need level 46 Ranged to use them. They are members-only items and they stack in your inventory. Each bolt has a ranged strength bonus of +103.

Players can make ruby bolts with level 63 Fletching. Each bolt gives 6.3 Fletching experience. A batch takes 10 adamant bolts and 10 ruby bolt tips.

The real power comes from enchanting them. With level 49 Magic, the Enchant Crossbow Bolt (Ruby) spell turns 10 ruby bolts into ruby bolts (e). Enchanted ruby bolts have a chance to trigger the Blood Forfeit effect. This effect hits the target for 20% of its current Hitpoints, up to 100 damage. It costs you 10% of your own Hitpoints when it fires.

This makes ruby bolts a top pick against bosses with big health pools, such as Vorkath and Nex. The effect can chunk huge damage early in a fight. Many players switch to diamond or onyx bolts once the boss gets low, since the ruby effect gets weaker at low Hitpoints.
